Meeting Highlights, News and General Updates
April 14, 2026 Meeting Recap: Republicans of Sun City Hilton Head
President Tim Wyld opened the meeting with an invocation and acknowledged Holocaust Remembrance Day, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance led by Vice-President Joel Powell. Members were invited to suggest additions to the Group’s Principles by contacting Tim Wyld or a Board member, and an ice cream social will be held on April 16 from 12:30 to 3:00 PM at the Pavilion to welcome new members, with sign-up sheets provided during the meeting. Guest speakers, Probate Judge candidates Heather Galvin (Beaufort County) and Dixie Ford (Jasper County), presented their experience and priorities, with Galvin highlighting her work on mental health, elder abuse, and predatory marriage cases, and Ford emphasizing the need for improved technology and record systems in Jasper County. They also discussed the responsibilities of probate courts, including marriage licenses, estate settlements, guardianships, and trust matters, while audience questions focused on out-of-state estate plans, DNRs, living wills, and funding for system updates in Jasper County.
