The Democrats in South Carolina are once again spreading misinformation regarding ICE-related activities in Beaufort County. Contrary to claims being circulated, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Department does not participate in broad immigration enforcement operations or random ICE raids.
According to Sheriff PJ Tanner, the Sheriff’s Department only works with ICE when dealing with outstanding warrants, criminal citations, and legal matters involving individuals who are in the country illegally. Sheriff Tanner has reaffirmed this position on numerous occasions and has consistently stated that the department’s role is focused on public safety and law enforcement responsibilities.
Residents should be aware that a protest may take place today at the Beaufort County Municipal Building, located at 4819 Bluffton Parkway, Bluffton, SC, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Community members are encouraged to stay informed, verify information through official sources, and avoid relying on rumors or politically motivated misinformation.
