Guest Speaker—AG Alan Wilson, Republican candidate for South Carolina Governor:
- First elected in 2010, AG Wilson was the youngest AG in the country, and currently is the longest serving AG in the country.
- He described his background, sharing personal experiences in his life that shaped who he is today, including, among others, events while serving in combat, and personal times with his family.

- As potential governor, he described himself as transformational, with a new level of leadership and energy. Some of his key issues as governor would include elimination of state income tax, fraud, waste, and abuse, judicial election reforms, lower utility costs, DOT reformation, government restructuring, and prioritizing public safety. He believes in “family first”, and what is best for families and businesses.
- AG Wilson provided in-depth responses to members’ questions, which were around healthcare, particularly for seniors in this area, difficulty passing laws with a conservative perspective, closed primaries, income and property taxes, funding government if the state tax is eliminated, the state prison system, and cooperation with ICE.
- He has selected Mike Reichenbach as his Lt. Governor.
